A Concept for a Student Contest for a World Materials Day — the First World
Materials Day was held Wednesday, November 5, 2003. Upcoming dates include Thursday, November 4, 2004 and Wednesday, November 2, 2005.
- Each Member Society has the opportunity to participate by following the general
criteria but has the ability to create their own competition within their
country involving materials students (college, undergrad level, and grad level)
- General Criteria: Promotion of the wider knowledge of materials and their
importance in every day life to the benefit of young people.
Recognition
- Winner (single individual or team) from each Society to receive check for
$500 US Dollars and plaque from IOMMMS
Future Meetings
- September 21 & 22, 2005: Hosted by JIM. Future sites include North America in 2006, and Europe in 2007.

- September 6, 2004: In conjunction with JR. EUROMAT, held in Lausanne, Switzerland.
